If you or a loved one have been convicted of a DUI in the state of Utah, or had your license sanctioned as a result of refusing or failing a chemical test, you are an alcohol restricted driver. That means that you are not authorized to operate a motor vehicle with any alcohol in your system whatsoever. The legal limit of .08 Blood Alcohol Concentration no longer applies if you are considered an alcohol restricted driver. The specification of this enforcement will appear on your driving record. The length of the prohibition depends on a number of different factors however. It could be affected by your age, how many other offenses you have had, and also how much alcohol was in your system at the time of arrest. If you drive with alcohol in your system during this period you will have your license revoked for a period of one year. It pays to know how to act and especially how not to act in the event of a DUI. Even though you may receive certain penalties for your actions, you can greatly help your situation by knowing your rights and then following the guidelines laid out for you by the court. Educate yourself on your options. Having a qualified and knowledgeable Attorney on your side can make a world of difference for you and for your family. DUI Arrest – Representing Yourself
Representing yourself after a DUI arrest is truly a terrible mistake. Most people lack the important knowledge and information they need about DUI laws to effectively defend their rights and interests. DUI arrests miss out on all the benefits that an experienced DUI lawyer can bring in the State of Utah. Our experienced DUI attorneys use their expert negotiation skills to defend you against an impending DUI charge. They argue with the prosecutor to get you off with a lesser sentence. For example, you may be able to plead down the charges that you’re facing to a lesser charge, such as a reckless driving charge. It’s the difference between jail time and freedom. When you are arrested for a DUI, there are both criminal and administrative consequences. Not only do you have to deal with the courts but with the Department of Motor Vehicles. This means that you’re driver’s license can be suspended for a period of time. Hiring a defense attorney can help you keep your license through the very stressful period of dealing with your case. Make the smart choice and let Dui Attorney Salt Lake City Druyon Law Offices fight for you.
